Rock The Vote!

As you know this is an election year and we have a very important election in 2008. We’ve already made history by electing our very first African American to represent the democratic party as a candidate for President of the United States. Our next step is to make sure he’s elected to be the first black President. How awesome will that be for our children and our children’s children to know that they can truly become anything they’d like to become and to actually have a role model that has set the example for them?

What a truly amazing feeling that will be. So with that said, lets make sure we register to vote! And once you register, or if you are already registered, let your voice be heard!

Become a part of history by electing Barack Obama for President and lets get ready for CHANGE!

God knows we could sure use it!!

Casper for taking me under your wing and hookin' a sista up and last but not least my new #1 fan Val for being there however and whenever we needed you!!!

Black Infant Mortality

Attention All….

Black babies in Broward County, FL are dying at more than twice the rate of white babies! This is a startling but true statistic. Community stakeholders, Urban Music Group, and myself have joined forces with the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County with a Call to Action in order to raise awareness of this very important issue in our communities.

If you are pregnant or know someone who is we are asking that you seek appropriate prenatal care because “every baby is our responsibility.” Seeking care as soon as possible after conception is one way we can help reduce the immortality rate of our children…..let’s work together to spread the word and save our children……(look for more ways in future blogs)

I wanna hear your stories, have you lost a child or know someone who has? Tell us your story......you may save someone’s life….

What Cha Wearin?

Summer is here and its hot outside for real….and if u are anything like me you're trying to shed a few winter pounds so u can wear the latest summer gear!

When I’m in chill mode I like to be fashionable but comfortable, so, I’ve fallen in love with sun dresses! My favorite ones are the long ones, the longer the better…why u might ask? Well, I’m a tall girl so I’d like to send a shout out and big ups to all the tall women in the world cause they finally came up with dresses with us in mind, and not only that…they just seem to be really comfortable, classy, and fashionable! I absolutely love the colorful ones. My favorites are blues and pinks, but yellow’s sneakin’ in on 'em cause it’s a hot color this year…..I wanna know what you're favorite gear is for the summer....whatcha wearin?
